Investigation #6- Bachelor's Grove Cemetery- Midlothian, IL
6-2-3: (2010, 2011)
Date: Saturday, August 13, 2011
Time Frame: Midnight
Weather: Clear, muggy
Equipment: Digital camera, 2 digital voice recorders, KII EMF meter, digital EMF detector, P-SB7 ghost box
Team Members: Joe Sturm, Krystelle Johnson, Josh Agins
Reports:
As you know from before, Bachelors Grove Cemetery is reported not only to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in Illinois, but the entire United States! Anomalies such as orbs, a white lady, a ghost farmer, and even demons have been reported. Up to this point, TORCH is yet to catch definite evidence of any of these things. Not even a single EVP.
Introduction:
You've probably figured out by now that Bachelors Grove Cemetery is one of our favorite places to visit. Especially since this is our third investigation there. The only difference this time?... It's our first night-time investigation of the Grove. It's also Josh's first time at this abandoned cemetery as well. We hope to have a much less traffic-noise-polluted, much more peaceful, and hopefully a much creepier experience. Will we finally catch some real evidence at the Grove? Read on to find out...
Summary:
It was pitch-black as we made our way through the woods. We stumbled over some big rocks, deep pot holes, and tripped over a few large broken tree branches. The walk seemed forever this time. But we finally reached the gate to the hollowed grounds. And it came to our surprise of how different it looked during a summer night. If you go back and look at some pictures from our previous Bachelors Grove investigations, you're able to see every head stone. Tonight, however, it looked as if nobody had been mowing the lawn for a few years. Grass, weeds, and plants were grown so high that it was impossible to cut straight through the cemetery. We had to take the dirt path around the entire property. First, we started off in the beginning of the cemetery where we took a quick EVP session and made some quick use of our new P-SB7 Ghost Box. We couldn't hear any oddities from the radio-produced white noise out of the ghost box. And we felt nothing out of the ordinary. Josh then felt pulled to the corner of the cemetery where Krystelle may have caught an EVP during the last investigation. We spent about an hour there before we decided to split up. Josh went towards the pond, Krystelle stayed in the corner, while Joe went to visit the large Fulton headstone. Josh and Joe did some EVP work while Josh took some pictures around the pond. About a half hour later the team met and proceeded with the rest of the investigation in the back of the cemetery.
Conclusion:
The Grove does have a different feeling in the middle of the night. In fact, the creepiness level is about a hundred times more than it is during the day. Both Josh and Krystelle reported to have a couple strange feelings throughout the night. It was interesting that Josh was pulled to the same exact grave that Krystelle caught a possible EVP in an earlier investigation. But other than a couple strange feelings, no paranormal experiences were reported. Whether or not the Grove is haunted is still a toss-up in the eyes of TORCH.
Evidence:
You will notice that in most, if not all, of the pictures there are many orb-looking things. Well, we must discount every single one of them as being evidence. Because there were, literally, thousands of bugs in the air. In fact, each team member left the investigation looking like they caught the chicken pox. And this makes it hard to look for any visual evidence at all..... EVP is still under review. If we actually do catch any evidence, check out our "Evidence" page to view it.
